I’m 7 years into a relationship like this. I love her, but it’s breaking us apart. If you love your SO, please don’t neglect your mental health. What is reassuring and cute to you can become a taxing chore with time until one person is more like a caretaker than a lover.

New question: “would you love me even if I kept asking if you love me to point that you become more like a caretaker than a lover?”

People say this, but I never see anyone out there loving worms just in case it’s their soulmate.

My wife asked me if I would still love her if she was a worm.

Me: “What does it mean for you to be a worm? Like, you were never born and instead your consciousness went into a worm somewhere? Or you’re the person you are right now but then you decided to switch to a worm body? Or a witch cursed you and turned you into a worm against your will?”

Her: “I dunno, you just come home and I’m a worm.”

Me: “So I wasn’t there to witness the transformation? I’d probably put the worm outside and try to find you.”

Her: “And when you don’t find me, what do you do with the worm?”

      Me: “Nothing? I don’t know it’s you.”

Her: “Really? You won’t take care of me?”

Me: “I don’t think I would even think about the worm in the first place. If anything, I’d maybe squish the worm.”

      Her: “You WHAT?!??”

      Me: “I mean… uhh…”

      Her: “We’re fighting.”
