I had/have the same problems with doctors here in the US. Even if they’re good, they just don’t have enough time to work with any individual patient.

The first personal trainer I went to wasn’t that good, but the second was great, and I got in a lot better shape and got comfortable working with machines.

The Peter Attia book and Joe Delaney channel sound interesting, I’ll check those out!

Xfinity is a curse from hell. Over the years I’ve had to help my elderly aunt with various problems with their account. A couple different things that worked:

1. went into an Xfinity store. This helped for simpler account things. People there were generally cool, it was just a job and I think they knew the whole company was a mess, they’d give me tips on how to get to the right place and solve the problem.

2. convinced the AI bot that it was a problem that it couldn’t solve. Then I got a human in the chat, who could actually help.

3. went to the web-based “help bulletin board” (I found this through the account’s panel) and posted the problem there. There were several unhelpful “community expert” responses but eventually someone who worked there guided me to a web-based chat with their first-line tech support, i.e. so I could give account information. It took them half an hour to reply to anything I said. I explained things VERY CAREFULLY repeating everything we’d established so far (I imagined I was talking to an evil genie) and they eventually gave me a phone number to call, and that person could indeed help me.

Really interesting info. I’m also getting older, and in the past couple years I started going to the gym too. How did you figure out all that? Did you talk to a doctor, or a personal trainer, or people at the gym, or what?

I just say “I only have a work phone, I’m not allowed to install stuff on it.”

Or better yet, tint the Mawashi so it’s the same color as the wearer’s skin.

Maybe you oughta post more pictures of people in mawashi. When I first started posting on !sumo@lemmy.world, I tried clipping all the pics so they only showed “above the waist” so they wouldn’t offend anyone. Then I figured wtf it’s a sport and a traditional garment, anyone who gets offended by sumo wrestlers would prolly get offended by classical sculptures.

I thought I’d keep going back to r$ddit regularly, but I don’t. Every time I think of logging in there, I remember all the BS they made me put up with and I’m like forget it.

If a web search directs me there I’ll check it out, but I never stick around.
