You mean the KDE Literature Optical Recognition and Identification System? It’s just a plugin for skanpage that helps with book scanning and OCR 🤷 How else would they name it? (I just made it up)

This is the kinda thinking that writes great books, because you’re spot on with the dynamic, If it was to be real, that would be very believable

Horny teenage joke was just for surprise lolz I think, not a comment about KDE-involved names being horny (I think, every time I say something like this in any domain I end up learning about things I wish I hadn’t lol)

The word “teledildonics” dates back to 1991. Danni’s Hard Drive was in 1995, Usenet groups were used to share scans of porn magazines, and anonymous ftp and gopher were used for sharing porn in the 1980s.

Ahhh, I’ll always feel nostalgia for 80s-90s era sci-fi optimism.

Flying cars and teledildonics, how hard can they really be, and clearly everyone wants these!

I remember that splash image! It might seem like a joke/meme, but it was an official one:

          https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp-data/-/blob/main/images/splash-log.md?ref_type=heads

Search for version 2.7.2 / 2.7.3 on that page

2. Be civil
  • Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
  • Do not harrass or attack users for any reason. This includes using blanket terms, like “every user of thing”.
  • Don’t get baited into back-and-forth insults. We are not animals.
  • Leave remarks of “peasantry” to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.
  • Bigotry will not be tolerated.
3. Post Linux-related content
  • Including Unix and BSD.
  • Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux. For example, the poorly made mockery of sudo in Windows.
  • No porn, no politics, no trolling or ragebaiting.
  • Don’t come looking for advice, this is not the right community.
4. No recent reposts
