      Hay gets tied up in large bunches to make it easier to move around and to store. The bunches are called “bales.” When you deposit money as a security to be released from jail pending trial it’s called “bail.”

      Non USA either. While I have seen and heard the word “Bail” more often, I don’t know what it is well enough to explain it for you :/

        It’s the money you pay to avoid jail while waiting for a court date. It ensures you show up in court, at which point you get your bail back.

        Helps to ensure we have a thriving rich person industry, and poor people are punished for being poor.
