    Potatoes: 87¢/lb source

McDonald’s Hash browns: $3.45/56g(0.143 lb) source

    1 ÷ 0.143 = 6.99

    $3.45 x 6.99 = $24.16

Now I’m not great at math so correct me if I’m wrong, but that means that for every 1 pound of potatoes McDonald’s buys, they sell 7 hash browns for about $24 fucking dollars.

Numbers are of course prone to fluctuations but JFC

Actually about 28$/lb, or about 32$ hashbrown price per 1$ potato cost

      56g is 0.12345 pounds.

0.87/3.49*0.12345=0.03077 (assuming it’s only potatoes… this is the ratio between potato cost and McD hashbrown price).

We invert it to flip the ratio: 0.03077^-1= 32.5.

32.5$ for every 1$ of potatoes.
