Ofc it would be rude if someone was sitting there.
Someone will eventually sit there and the airlines (edit: I’m realizing this might be a train but my point still stands) don’t wipe down anything between flights. Which means the next poor soul that sits there is going to have a stranger’s foot funk on their arms.
You do not want to know what kind of shit is on any public seat. Much worse than a bit of foot sweat. I’m talking viruses from people sneezing, gushing armpit sweat and poop particles.
You wouldn’t even notice if you sat down half an hour later. So why would this matter?
Your argument is: it’s already gross, so it’s who cares if it’s MORE gross? Personally I’d argue for cleanlier public spaces or antimicrobial surfaces on high contact points but you do you.
Also you’ll definitely notice once you get a fungal infection on your arms, you just won’t know how or why it happened.

According to the reddit OP, it’s the Vande Bharat Express in India. The ports look like the typical travel adapter ports that can handle several different plug types, but the UK plug sort of asserts itself visually, LOL.
