As a Swede… I can say that the americanization over the last decades has been bothering me deeply. We never needed to import “Halloween” the way they celebrate it in the US, I never asked to have strangers ringing my doorbell every october. The anti-America sentiment has definitely been growing in many circles in Sweden for decades, I would say it is just getting more visible these days.

I just took that statement to be a mask off moment where he reveals just how little he thinks of most humans. He can’t really be stupid enough to think there are only one billion humans on the planet?
