Nah, I installed Edge on Mint like an animal.

Hey, you know what is a good example? Every app not included in the default app repository. But, you conveniently skipped that to make a useless point. GG.

0·2 days agoEvery piece of software that doesn’t come with the default repositories, which in many distros includes the ‘niche’ software of vidcard drivers. Samba network sharing v1, disabled in both Windows and Linux, is a simple double click of the app feature to reenable in Windows. In Linux, you have to change entries in at least 2 files, assuming you can find correct instructions in the first place.

0·2 days agoTBF it does have a glaring lack of automation for way too much of the basics. Even hand holding distros like Mint will have you using the terminal for something windows just does with a double click.
FTR I prefer Linux over Windows but I still lose it every time installation instructions for some app have 4 pages of commands for the CLI instead of just running an installer that automates the BS.

0·13 days agoThe Fediverse (commonly shortened to fedi)[2][3][4] is a collection of social networking services that can communicate with each other (formally known as federation) using a common protocol . Users of different websites can send and receive status updates, multimedia files and other data across the network. The term Fediverse is a portmanteau of federation and universe.[5]
The majority of Fediverse platforms are based on free and open-source software , and create connections between servers using the ActivityPub protocol. Some software still supports older federation protocols as well, such as OStatus, the Diaspora protocol and Zot, while newer protocols such as AT Protocol connect via network bridges. Diaspora is the only actively developed software project classified under the original definition of Fediverse that does not support ActivityPub.[6][7]
DesignWhile a traditional social networking service will host all its content on servers managed by the owner of the website, the decentralized structure of the Fediverse allows any individual or organization to host a social platform using their own servers (referred to as an “instance”).

They should have had teh dev say ‘it is almost done, just need to work on the UI’ and then get drafted to war where he gets domed by a 50 cal and then completes the project. Would have been more accurate that way.
