I had a plan in my head for a custom end table for quite a while, something made of local wood, a book shelf, and integrated wireless charger. This is the result.
Wood is arbutus wood, treated with tung oil just need to add a drawer. Plans are entirely unique, made in Civil3d. I took the raw wood, rough cut it, planed it, sanded and polished. It’s as close to scratch as you can get.
Looks nice! Sounds like a very fun process too.
Is one side larger than the other, or is that a trick of perspective / lens distortion?
How did you integrate the charger, and where’s the power cord? I’ve thought of doing something similar but not tried to design it.
Just a bad camera angle.
I used the Ikea sjomake which I don’t think they sell anymore. It can be really temperamental, getting it right.
If I ever get a qi2 phone, I’ll probobly router some slots for magnets.
To be honest, I just coiled up the wire for the pic. Usually there’s just a small wire coming out the bottom

Did you…dry it?
Bought it pre-cut, and pre-dried. When I say rough cut, I mean cut my prices roughly to size!
