A recent spike in stunt driving offences is sounding alarm bells for local officials, as Ottawa continues to struggle with illegal stunt driving and street racing on city roadways.
According to Ottawa Police Service (OPS) data, as of Oct. 17, there have been 623 stunt driving and related offences this year — including tickets for stunt driving, street racing and careless driving.
Make a stunt course track for them to not be a danger to others. 🤷♂️

Elder Gearheads in my area reminisce of time when the cops would shut down a straight stretch of highway so people could drag race. This is probably 1970’s tho
Assholes keep speeding and getting away with it. Remember how they cried when they actually got fined for breaking the law? Replace speed cameras with cops.
What speed cameras? Bring back the speed cameras for one.
I’m all for it, but that’s a provincial thing, not a municipal thing.

The provincial government outlawed speed cameras. It’ll require a change in provincial government, but considering the size of the speeding/driving lobby, I doubt any party would touch it.

Significantly increase fines and take licenses away for much longer periods. After each such ticket, roll a die, and if the result is odd, squash their vehicle into a cube. Or sell it and give the proceeds to a local hospital.
Hospitals don’t just need cash, they also need organs. Maybe they can contribute twice.
