I’ve been using Deemix for several years, but it’s not maintained anymore and it finally stopped working :<
But the way it worked was you paid for a deezer.com subscription and gave the login arl token to the deemix app. Then the app could download the music files using your account.
Is there anything like that these days?
A fork is maintained here
There’s this: edit:removed due to vibe coded
vibe-coded
I think streamrip is what you want
https://github.com/nathom/streamrip
and there’s an updated and maintained version of deemix here:
Is there a particular reason for downloading from streaming services? If not and lossless is important to you, it might be easier to use something like Soulseek (via Nicotine) and get flac files. There are some projects like SockSeek that can automate downloads (I used it when it was called sldl to convert my YouTube playlists into a local flac music library).
is sockseek one of those clients that doesn’t share back and just leeches off the network?
If so please don’t use it, people have started putting capatchas on their shares because of these clients and it messes up legitimate clients like slskd
I use lucida.to, and fallback to yt-dlp if the song I want isn’t on there.
no one’s seeding the brutal death metal and symphonic black metal i listen to, so i want to know this too
no one’s seeding the brutal death metal and symphonic black metal
and soulseek obviously
Best I’ve found is yt-dlp against YouTube Music. Their catalog is pretty complete but there’s definitely more legwork involved than point and click.
You can use yt-dlp on non-YouTube sites.
And I know there are ways to enter credentials and stuff so it might actually work for OP. Not sure though.
It’s such a wonderful piece of software.
YT Music is lossy, unfortunately.

Used to be called Spotiflac and they’ve renamed themselves like two or three days ago, you might need to add this as a repo source to install the plugins:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/spotiflacapp/spotiflac-extension/main/registry.json
Not sure how long that link will last and I haven’t found the new one for Mornye yet
Does Mornye actually work? Last time I tried to use Spotiflac it would intentionally not connect to download servers unless you had the version locked behind the author’s Patreon
Learn to use yt-dlp on a terminal. Is way easier and practical that a GUI and you can learn it if you invest a little of time and effort on how to use it in a terminal. 99% of the you are going to use the sem options and just pasting the link.
You can even make a script to read your linkes and automatically download the nusic.
can yt-dlp grab things from deezer?
I can’t confirm, but given the question is several hours old without response;
yt-dlp can use webbrowser cookies to use browser login sessions
--cookies-from-browser firefox, which may be enough
You could try Spotube. It’s sort of a front end for your Spotify account and can download songs. Can be buggy at times but it works.
