My physical therapist told me “movement is medicine” and I hate that she was right, because a lot of the time it feels like shit to do!

I had messed up arches when I was little and the doctors didn’t want to do anything about it for the longest time. At like 25 I get a script for PT for really bad back pain and learn that APPARENTLY I have to entirely relearn how to walk because I basically built the entire fucking house on a crocked foundation and now my back is fucked. It’s been over 10 years since then and I still haven’t fully corrected my pelvic tilt and my back still hurts if I walk more than like ten minutes at a time.

I’m sorry, that sounds awful to deal with! PT didn’t really ‘fix’ me either, I still struggle with the pain I went in for, but the exercises and stretches they taught me at least tend to help me keep the worst of it away. I hope the exercises they’ve got you doing give you some relief!

They definitely do help yeah, they’re the only reason I’ve gotten to where I am. My pain used to be a lot worse and I used to be a lot more limited in what I could do. I need to be a little more consistent about them, but that’s mostly just an “It’s been hectic” thing. I can usually do a set here or there in random places throughout the day. That’s usually how I’d get them in because they’re all just random bodyweight exercises which is nice.

IMO top ways to support your back if you spend loads of time sitting:

      • running
      • deadlifts
      • squats

all of the above only work with proper technique tho
