I have never thought about door handles in my life, except this one time where a door had a handle on the “push” side and I didn’t understand why the hell it would need a handle if it’s only meant to be pushed from that side…

Isn’t evolution beatiful? Each of these specimen has adapted to fit a highly specific niche, it’s knob optimized to predate a specific style of trouser pocket or even certain belt loops.

None of these door handles are raptor proof, and as such, will never be installed in my home.

Spielberg’s 1993 documentary, Jurassic Park has taught me many life lessons

god these are all so weird.

Edit: you know what it is? it’s the cover plate being so large. none of them are what i am used to but some are pretty close, but the huge cover plate makes them all look weird.

I don’t like curvy doorknobs, so I’ll go with Broadway, Latitude or Jazz. Jazz seems to have a small space for your thumb.

Visually? Manhattan. But as a type 1 diabetic I prefer round knobs. Do you know how many tubes I’ve ripped out from getting caught on this style of knob? And don’t get me started on cabinet handles…

Levers are generally installed over knobs as they are more accessible for people with impediments that lack grip strength.

Yeah, I broke my hand and was unable to grip stuff, you start noticing real the difference real fast. Also why 90% of the videos of cats opening doors are doors with lever style handles.

Finally, the relevant questions are being asked.

Avila and Champagne for me. Also fuck Elan and Jazz in particular, might as well install a knife as a doorhandle.

Champagne and St. Annes are my favourites - i love the soft curves on the first one which look nice and the haptics will be fine too; St. Annes looks like it would feel very satisfying to press down and the divot on the top part underlines the remaining soft curves very well.
