I’m honestly sick to death of people acting like every goddamn kink is rooted in mental illness. This isn’t the 50’s, Freud’s been discredited, so no blaming mommy today!

not everything needs to be a post-traumatic thing… one can like feeling safe despite not having had terrible parents or whatever.

I think this also incentivizes not healing from your trauma in order to keep the identity…

My dad isn’t perfect, and he suffered horrible neglect as a kid which caused narcissistic tendencies and definitely left a mark on us kids, but I’d say I’m pretty over the “trauma” aspect of it. We have a good relationship now. However, I still want to be someone’s cute puppy girl uwu (/jk)

This totally does not apply to me, because my only value was my conforming to the expectations of my conflict-laden surroundings which could never be fulfilled because of their contradictory nature. So I am fine. I totally did not transition way too late because I was trapped in a behavioral pattern since my childhood and neglected my own needs. I so do not have cPTSD, thank you very much.

I have no idea what any of that means and I feel like I’m not losing that much by not knowing

Overly online A(u)DHD person “Get mental health care instead of latching onto an online personality stereotype” challenge! Level: impossible.

(All meant in good fun. Everyone has a different path to better. I seriously do recommend therapy if you can find a good therapist though. I maybe could have worked through the shit they’re helping me with on my own, but I’ve made more progress towards who I want to be in a few months than I have in years.)

I only SOMETIMES have memory gaps it’s fiiiiiiine 👍

“Bitch, you are anything but fine.”

    Perfectly fine, shush gecko 🤏

    “Recall everything that happened yesterday.”

Initially only remembered the evening, then visiting the woods, and it took a moment to realise we worked from home, and that’s basically all I remember

    “The day before that?”

    Fuck off 💀💀💀

“Uh-huh. Recall a single day before that.”

    Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh… uuuhhhhhh

“Definitely just ADHD. Enjoy the voices in your head, puppygirl.”

    TwT

EDIT: Just to confirm we looked at diagnostic criteria for C-PTSD and talked with two friends who are familiar with it then another with it and we 100% have it 💀

EDIT 2 ELECTIRCCHCJKC: Partner confirmation TwT

yes yes, very accurate. the question is, does it help? im not a puppy girl but id be willing to give it a try if it gave me some relief from the internalized unrealistic expectations of my parents.
