Source: I just ate half a teaspoon of turmeric. 10/10 would not recommend. I guess, I should also add that you really don’t need a lot of turmeric to color things yellow, so the flavor isn’t that big of a deal here.

It’s mostly bitter with a slight hotness and a herbal touch. “Dry” is also a really good adjective for it IMHO.
