    It is not next-generation, this is a versionning solution for a different kind of software than git. Git works extremely well for traditional software development.

    Lore seems to be tailored for video games and other software that have large amount of assets, partial checkouts, worktree where patched-based system is not very well adapted.

    I’m no longer friends with Epic, but I recognize the usefullness, as this is Open Source, solves a problem they need and on top of, it is written in Rust. One of the best things come out of Epic lately.

    Interesting, I’d like to see a benchmark comparison of it with Git, both in scenarios with multiple binary assets and in typical scenarios of mostly source code files

    Very cool project. I imagine people will like being able to commit all assets without everyone everywhere having to download every pixel change.
