Yeah, no one wants to be viewed as someone who hangs out on 4chan or 4chan adjacent sites. Something like linux_pics or usability_images would work fine. I’m fond of photogenic_desktops as a name. Maybe someone on the developers / programming instance should start it so it’s on an instance likely to support it.

Yes, I’d definitely rather have a fucking dead site than see pictures of people’s pretty DEs that they’re proud of, and read discussions about why people like or don’t like certain things. Just a dead void of nothing sounds so superior to that as a newer user of GUI Linux distros instead of just headless. I love seeing that stuff too! I tried it a long time ago on Windows with Rainmeter. Got one looking like Persona theming and another with Calvin and Hobbes. May try to get back into it now that I’m on Linux.
