Someone you know is Br*tish 🤮
Metrosexuals! Now I finally understand what that strange word meant 😂
I assume NJ stands for New Jersey but I have chosen to read it as NightJet. Support our European night trains! WE NEED MORE OF THEEEMMMM!!!
I love the concept of a night train, but they’re so insanely expensive compared to flying. Wish we would stop subsidizing air travel so much.
Honestly, it isn’t as bad at all. With no discounts, a night train (especially Mon - Wed) from Vienna to Hamburg is like 80€ in comparison to a flight that only goes as low as 120€, and that only if you book half a year in advance.
In all fairness, Hamburg probanly isn’t the cheapest destination by plane but I chose it because it’s somewhere I sometimes go.
Im not gonna slander people who ride nj transit but I’m still gonna 100% slander nj transit. Their stock is old, they don’t have enough lines, they don’t have enough stations, and they don’t serve some of the most populated parts of the state. This is also a problem with NJ just not having enough density and a severe lack of rapid transit.
Conclusion: MTA >>>> NJ Transit
That can be said for public transit just about anywhere in the US :(
NJ Transit is very similar to standard US public transportation, their busses show up once an hour if they show up at all and overall they aren’t very good.
Im happy to be living in the only part of the country with good public transportation (NYC). Here we have a subway system that takes you to where you want to go (unless its central Queens), busses that usually aren’t overcrowded (key word there is usually), and soon a light rail system (still not for central queens but the outer areas).
Hey you aren’t the only part of the country!
Chicago Transit Authority is pretty functional for what it does. I also remember having decent experiences with the DC Metro and whatever it was called in Boston.
I will say Chicago is also pretty good and I hear Boston is amazing, DC is good but on the decline especially considering they just got rid of their streetcars.
Besides having plenty of stations and trains, what really stood out to me about the NY subway was how easy it was to use. Just scan my card and go, no hassle of getting a ticket or whatever.
That’s known as the OMNY system, the MTAs modern payment system that makes paying for the subway fast and easy. You can use your debit/credit card, phone, or a dedicated OMNY card (which can be refuelled with cash).
