Not as much a dad joke, but a similar joke by Emo Phillips that always makes me chuckle:

I found a wallet on the street with $100 in it. I was going to keep it, rather than return it, but then I thought, “how would I feel?”

And then I realized. I would want… to be taught a lesson.
