I’m gonna “huh” the shit out of people even when I heard them just fine.
I don’t know what I have but I cannot hold a conversation in a crowd because simply can’t understand them
Genuinely, I’m sorry but could you say that again?
I can’t hear you!
I often wonder why people put the unnecessary periods in an acronym, but then leave off the last period. Doesn’t really matter for memes, but I’ve seen that on professional signage and it looks like whoever did the design had a really shitty editor.
And then the processing catches up and I understand after the huh but before the repeat. Earplugs for noisy environments and looking at lips help, but just the extra paying attention is draining.
And then the processing catches up and I understand after the huh but before the repeat
It’s not normal for that to occur occasionally?
It’s called Audio Processing Disorder and it’s a brain thing
My least favorite is when somebody reiterates instead of repeating themselves. Just say what you said again so I can hear it!
Functionally, yes, it is auditory dyslexia. You’re not struggling to hear, you’re struggling to get the sounds to process into words.
Huh?
Whaaa?!
Every act of listening I do is active listening because I have to actively struggle to keep up with the conversation.
Huh?
I’m sure I’ve agreed to lots of things I shouldn’t have because I didn’t hear and nodded my head in agreement because I’m tired of saying “Huh?” and “Pardon me?” all the time.
Hwat?
