I just go with generic gestures/pointing as needed. I know what you folks are like and it would be silly to think that everyone knows them.
Those hand signals are also used in cars and are part of pretty much every driver’s handbook that you have to read to get your license, though???
Yeah you’re supposed to use them in case your turn signal is broken. Other drivers are supposed to know what they mean.

If you don’t know those hands signs, your drivers liscense should be revoked, you are a danger to everyone you are on the road with.
Ah, but hand signals are the equivalent of indicators/blinkers, and the part of the brain responsible for remembering to use them self-destructs as soon as your license arrives in the mail.

It’s kinda hard to get a license without it. But once you have it you can forget much of it and retain your license.
