      there’s no other real browser on ios, everything is just a gui reskin of safari. afaik there’s no benefit to using anything else.

        Kinda true. On iOS all browsers have to use the safari core as browser engine, but you still get the Firefox layer on top, most importantly account sync.
        Like if I’m on the toilet, see an article I wanna read on lemmy, but it has too many ads, I just send the tab to my PC and read it later. Also bookmark syncing comes in very handy for me.

          I don’t know the details fully but isn’t it like one Dev just patching Firefox? The whole Zen mod store seemed like an obvious vector for bad actors to me. What if he’s on vacation when a patch drops for a zero day?

    I get Brave is still “chrome” I only use it on Android as most all android browsers suck or break in some way. On Linux (catchyos) I use https://zen-browser.app/

      I have brave on Ios and if I’m correct it’s just using Apple’s safari webkit anyways. It’s been a few years since I compared browsers but back then it was the least shit, including firefox and firefox private.
