0·13 days agoInspiring tale, glad you found something you both enjoy and learn from! I think that’s a great use of time, to problem solve and develop tools that benefit you day-to-day.
I’ve had some family that have experienced strokes, ranging from a slight scare to full on life-changing. You’re certainly doing well if you’re writing your own apps, I can barely script BASH.
who are the fascists and white supremacists?
I honestly don’t understand people beefing with people they don’t know personally. Like, sure, I’m not the biggest fan of furries, but hey, you do you, I like animals but just not like that.
Not using software because people you don’t know like something you don’t like??? So stupid. Be you, be proud.
(I’m speaking generally, not directly to you op, btw)
shoutout to ffmpeg!
Yeah same. Its a little annoying having to wait for certain updates, like when a new application can be built from source on arch, but i’d have to rebuild a core dependency from a scratch to get it working on fedora.
But ive been using it for years, and even if i broke the system, ive always got it working again, which is saying something.
Google wants to finance anything they can get their damn search engine into, that’s not entirely the fault of Firefox. I still use a firefox-based browser, but only for now.
There is ladybird on the horizon, a browser being built from scratch, not based on either Gecko or Webkit.
definitely a goated application on linux by now. I’ve just started using it, and holy cow, it’s way more capable than I thought it was. 1.0 was a blessing!
the cat in the image is windows update taking over the linux boot partition: the box, instead of leaving it alone for the much more comfortable windows boot partition: the cat tree.

hardest part for me is services like google’s “find my phone” or google maps. If I need to quickly find a business, osmand or organic maps tend to fail, or default to finding a region of a street, instead of a single address for some odd reason.
Good on you though, I’ll be in the same boat by year end, if I find proper solutions
