I think they added a cloudflare captcha. Saw a recommendation for flaresolver but it sounds like that uses a fair amount of memory so I haven’t tried it personally

You’re totally right, I missed that before. Thank you!
The color is a scale that ranges between…14 and 17579? That does not seem very helpful when most areas are just shades of pink
Being for sports, I’m guessing a lot of the communities keep to their own teams and sports, but I’ve never seen any trolling or toxicity there (more activity in general would be very welcome actually). I’d recommend sharing some examples and why a complete cutoff is necessary rather than blocking a few users.
I’m aware regular Beeper can be self-hosted, but Beeper Mini can too? Is there any more information on this or is that the “if you have the knowledge” part?
I take it you’re not from the US 😅 texting is still the default here, and since apple refuses to open up iMessage and has not yet implemented RCS, Cross-Platform communication is pretty shitty. People get excluded from group chats because even a single user on a different platform will set it back to MMS
I was pleasantly surprised to see that it still carries that over! My Home feed (not subscriptions) has plenty of videos from channels I’m not subscribed to
Highly recommend setting up Wirehole on a free tier cloud server. Here’s a link with everything you need, including Docker install:
Obligatory droid-ify plug (Material UI client)
Why is their logo a Mole when Mullvad is The Goat
This looks great! I just downloaded it and so far it seems to be what I was looking for. Thank you!
Fair enough - I hadn’t even considered going old school, but that might be a good idea! Thanks for the comments
I started using Joplin recently and like it, but I’m not sure it quite fits what I’m looking for in this case
Does it encrypt at rest or only in transit? I haven’t been able to find a clear answer (which makes me believe it’s not)
This is cool! I’ve been very pleased with Mullvad as a company and with their products. (now if only they hadn’t gotten rid of port forwarding, but I get it…)
I’m guessing not, but in the offchance you’re using one of the newer Chromecast with Google TV there is a Jellyfin app you can install
Have you looked into unbound? https://docs.pi-hole.net/guides/dns/unbound/
Someone suggested it further down but fanaticus.social has most of the largest teams and general sports communities. The head mod seems pretty chill too so if there’s anything specific you’re looking for and not seeing it’s worth asking them
Thanks for the writeup! No plans of my own to host a server at the moment, but there’s some good takeaways here.
also saw lemmy.ninja has a boomer shooters community so ofc had to subscribe
Grayjay works pretty well
