Yes, yes yes! The world needs more femboy dads. That said this happened the other way around for me. Just goes to show how much overlap there is among fringe internet cultures- I really wish we could all play nice more often.

Well chickpeas are underrated asf for one, fry em with oil and add a little salt and it’s like vegan bacon… Well, vegan bacon spheres. Hummus is a chickpea dip that is to die for, flavor-wise and it’s really easy to make fresh + keeps for weeks. Highly recommend mushrooms and nuts too for when you need something a little heartier.
Love to hear it! Hope that does what you need it to for a long time! being a commercial product (kinda, system76 mostly makes money off hardware with it iirc) there should be great support and I’m pretty sure it has its own forum too like many other distros. Good luck!
If you don’t like it there are always other options (if you like a lot about arch, Garuda or Manjaro would be my next suggestion) but I do think Pop is great for those adjusting to the new ecosystem from windows
You absolutely should, sounds perfect for your use case. It’s meant for gaming PCs, and as you’re starting out don’t be afraid to take advantage of the several different package managers out there (I think pop has one built-in but there are others like snap). Finding and installing programs via command line isn’t as hard as you might think either and is usually more secure/ideal. If you need something more cutting edge and are willing to dive into stuff like that I’ve had great experiences with garuda and manjaro too. There are lots of FAQ’s out there, and it can be really daunting at first but I promise it’ll be rewarding somehow. I personally love all the different free software repositories and having apps like fortune run when I start my machine- there’s something so cozy about configuring a PC to be a little fun and reflect your own personality a bit.
Linux mint specifically is great for documents and browsing but other distros are gonna have better gaming presets is all I was saying. Imo, It’s a “typing laptop” OS when you probably want Pop! Instead. That or the other ones I listed have extra drivers and whatnot by default. Just trying to be helpful!
Use proton and/or a distro actually meant for gaming (Linux mint is simplified, more for beginners imo and not one I’d personally recommend). Try Pop!, Manjaro or Garuda.
This is what you get for using fedora in 2023. I have no issues with garuda, lutris and proton: it’s been at least a month since I’ve tried to play a game and failed. Which is alright imo- I don’t wanna play any given game if it doesn’t support Linux EAC in the first place
Instant upvote because KDE is stupid underrated
I find ASCII incredibly readable honestly. I use pixel fonts too, but I love the sharp blocky characters it’s so much easier on the eyes than whatever windows or iOS has going on by default
It’s probably wise to check the forums regularly, I had to reinstall the entire OS once (arguably because of NVIDIA) but on more than one occasion it’s stopped a update for me because packages were in conflict. So it’s nice that there’s some foresight on their part.
To search the AUR and add a program:
yay (desired package) You’ll see multiple choices most likely, pick one and it’s pretty self-explanatory from there.
To remove program: yay -R (program)
system update/update all packages: yay -Syu
There are a few different package management tools too like Octopi which let you directly browse the AUR by category in a GUI but I think that’s pm the basics.
Garuda is easily my favorite arch based distro, nice to see ppl talking about it! Once you get used to using yay instead of apt-get and the AUR in general it’s such a better experience
Well, you can play as either shadowheart or karlach and romance the other. They did their best, gotta admit.
Proton will make almost anything work. There are more than a few different approaches but if you need a gui/simplified all-in-one tool I can’t recommend lutris enough.

that’s great to know, these are all the sites I’m aware of atm: https://watcha.movie/ https://fmovies.to/ https://ww8.0123movie.net/ https://www.wcostream.org/ and https://anix.to/
I just use illicit streaming sites nowadays, I wish I could afford more physical storage but I don’t really wanna hold onto every TV show I consume anyways. Way to go though, fuck these vastly overpriced subscription models!
You need drivers for your external USB most likely. Unfortunately, a lot of brands only support microsoft’s malware of a OS and use unnecessary proprietary firmware…
