My brief experience is similar, even if conditions are perfect (you treat it like an editor, like this exactly the change you should make, flow exactly this naming and testing styles, run the tests so it’s clear you didn’t screw anything) it will still screw things up here and there.

Signal is blocked where I am, the assholes here created enough friction that nobody will bother (install signal and get a paid VPN with good obfs protocols to talk to me about how’s the weather today -> dude nah I am good)

Just like everyone can use Win XP, but none of latest software like browsers support XP. So do it at own paste now or be forced to upgrade later.

X11 is already dead IMO, if you didn’t move yet (still on i3wmfor example), it’s time to upgrade.

People aren’t impressed anymore when you slap AI to everything.

I pay for Claude and the CLI agent helps me a lot with boring stuff and that’s the only AI thing I will be ever paying for. I predict price increases, and if it will exceed 50 usd, I will be out and do the boring stuff myself.

As per my 30min research, GrapheneOS depends heavily on pixel internals, but I will highjack one of the mastodon posts maybe somebody will spoonfeed me the definitive answer.

I live in a very low cost area, hopefully I will manage to get a nameless phone to run GrapheneOS or LineageOS at low cost, forward most of the income to the open source projects.

It might be too naive but I am giving it a shot.

What will it take to make a phone that comes with GrapheneOS directly? I have access to some good connections in China, what phone spec could we prototype to have a phone coming with GrapheneOS? I am ready to throw my savings at starting this business. Or should I reach out to GrapheneOS people directly? (Lineage works also)
