Yeah, it’s entirely online only. And no e2ee, just relies on web server encryption like SSL.

The android, windows and Linux app use propriety parts, the android app is a web view app built in android studio, the Linux and windows apps are just electron apps. I have all the source code I used to build them on my pc, but I didn’t create a repo for them. go-notes is fully open source with the backend in go, the clients are just extremely basic frontends.
Just gone and checked and all the electron apps source code is in my repo, so the Linux and windows apps you can build yourself from the code. I can upload the android code from android studio if you want as well?

I built a fully open source multi-user live collaboration notes app, self host with docker, serve at root or a subdomain, has an android, windows and Linux client app, plus the usual web UI.
I’ve been playing cyberpunk ages on my Linux pc. Installed and worked first time and plays perfectly. Think it’s just a user error or lack of skill. But enjoy windows anyway, why did you even bother trying Linux? Windows is great for the average user who just wants to turn it on and not think about it.
Exactly for what you want it for. I’ve been using it about 3 months. Contacts and calender. It’s a real pain to set up. Not straight forward. I didn’t a lot of time with ai as could not get my head round the guide.

no, i use archlinux on my main desktop as i use it daily and is my main workhorse. i have a laptop that rarely gets used at that has debian on. then i have a mini pc server with debian and a raspberry pi 4 with debian based raspberry pi os.
Owl files if you want a nice simple gui, but cli like termux or terminus are better for mass file transfer

That was a bit off piste wasn’t it!
Ah, I have internet that can reach alllll around the world 😁

I wouldn’t say arch and arch-based are the same thing. If someone specifically asks about arch, I’d be inclined to advise them it’s not suitable for people not interested in reading and learning a bit. But I also agree arch-based are pretty solid and much more beginner friendly.
there is around 193 countries in the world. i dont think every single one will make it s legal requirement. I think we should be ok at least for a few decades anyway.
Nah computing as a service will be for the masses and mainstream user who doesn’t care, and they will have age verification and all the “security” measures included. The custom build and DIY setups won’t change at all. Any Linux / BSD distro can just be hosted in a territory that doesn’t require these “security” measures, then anybody who knows how to use them will be able to continue unaffected.
You’re missing the point of Linux. Generally, gnu/ Linux is a community based ecosystem across the board. Most of the software, most of the distros and most of the code you will use and encounter using any Linux distro will be community based. That’s what gives Linux its advantage. The community can vet and improve any piece of code to improve the system for everybody.
