I had a galago pro and it was not well built. It fell apart faster than any other laptop I’ve used.

Framework hasn’t done that yet. They have an event in 3 days and a lot of people seem to be thirsting for a Strix Halo main board, though.

It’s trivial to enable flathub, so it’s not meaningfully reducing the availability of software. It’s just a default.

Probably even worse than that.

This has less RAM, but it’s the same CPU. You can see it’s consistently 3 to 4 times slower than a Raspberry Pi 4! They are not joking about this not being for general use.

A Dev board like this is pretty cool, though. It could help pave the way to a performant board later.

Ghost has been working on adding activitypub support. They just added the ability to “unfollow” in their work in progress implementation, for example.

This has started happening often while playing games remotely for me, which in some cases fad made it impossible.

Anti-intellectualism seems to be resurgent in recent years. Its the worst I’ve seen since the Bush 2 era, and it’s all pevasive.

At the same time, anything too low will be suspicious or unrealistic.

I’m also having a mostly good experience with the same GPU using Aurora. One small issue I noticed is that certain context menus in steam appear corrupted sometimes. Have had no problem with games themselves.

I use Aurora DX instead which has the same Universal Blue core as Bazzite. I’ll echo what you say about distrobox- its fantastic once you realize how capable it is. You can set up a container for each development environment you need and never worry about conflicts or anything like that. Install SDKs, editors, IDEs, etc. and as you say, just run them as if they were on the host OS. Your container can be based on Fedora, Ubuntu, NixOS, and many more- so choose whatever you’re most comfortable with and just get to work. Aurora DX also comes with brew setup which can provide a lot of packages to run on the host as well, but I don’t often feel the need to do so.

I do wish I could add certain features of Bazzite to Aurora, like the gamescope session and the ujust waydroid script.

You probably could, but you’d have the taste of citric acid (which is not awful) and baking soda in the water. The Spärkel has the water that activates the reaction in a separate chamber so they don’t wind up in your drink. You need to change that water every four or five times you use it.

I use a “Spärkel” carbonator. Instead of CO2 canisters, it uses packets of citric acid and baking soda to generate CO2 and uses a compressor to infuse the liquid.

Pros:

• You can either use their pre-measured packets if that’s convenient for you, or do what I do and just buy a bulk amount of both the citric acid and baking soda.
• You can carbonate pretty much any liquid. Water, wine, flat soda, mixed drinks, you name it. The sodastream will explode and cause a huge mess if you try to carbonate anything besides water.
• They don’t appear to be Israeli.

Cons:

• Because it uses a compressor, it needs to be plugged in to operate. It’s pretty loud too!
• It takes longer than a sodastream. While a sodastream is almost instant, this will take 1-3 minutes depending on the level of carbonation you desire.

Ah, this is so cool. I have been absolutely loving Aurora. Maybe I can make a check point and rebase to this to try it out.

KDE is now working on releasing an atomic Arch-based distro themselves, which sounds a lot like SteamOS. I wonder how they will compare.
