I’ve seen them work on Freetube in the past although idk how, and maybe they no longer do

The software is supposed to be free as in speech, not beer, ergo you can use it for whatever you want. If right out of the gate, GNU was like “you better contribute back if you use this!” nobody would use or contribute to it. All this does is produce drama and reduce use because of negative perceptions, it is bad for corporate adoption and adoption overall. If browbeating people like an ass worked we would live in a very different world. It does not.
This recent morality policing about contributions upstream is counterproductive to FOSS overall, and I honestly have to wonder if some group of FOSS averse corporations or a state actor is behind all the sudden drama.
I had my mom on Ubuntu for most of the 2010’s, and then the macbook it was on had catastrophic hard drive failure around the pandemic, but then I was like, you don’t work anymore, why exactly do you NEED a computer to begin with? So now she literally doesn’t have a computer and just lives mobile/tablet OS life, which in a nonprofessional context seems perfectly serviceable these days.
Polish could be a hard lift, especially for a VERY unpopular series… Maybe one of the saved Google searches on the megathread? Sometimes you can find VERY obscure things with that, but good luck having seeds by some miracle…
This! I imagine this guy has every paid service this could have been on, but then you need to sleuth what it’s on. Easier to go to a one stop shop, which with sports in the US is gonna be pirate because the deals for who airs what is insane. Even if it was on Fox, it would take non-0 effort to determine that, open your Hulu with live TV or YouTube TV, maybe it was only available live and you failed to fake DVR it…

I had issues getting kernel versions on Debian seeing hard drives back when it got bad in the 2010’s (which is why I switched to Fedora, which was what I used as my primary distro before Debian). For experimental purposes, I’d try something with bleeding edge driver support like Fedora, not even to install, just to see if it sees the drive. I’ve even seen issues with kernel v various hardware things on Ubuntu/Mint v Fedora. I am currently very mad at Fedora because 40 is ass, and I’m having PTSD about Debian getting bad (I do hear it gud now) so I’m in no way recommending Fedora rn, but it will see the hardware if it’s a nonproprietary driver newness issue
Arguably, Germany having the ability if they really wanted to, to timing attack you to deanonymize (at great cost) and potentially burning a mal-state * https cert to read contents, is a VASTLY different risk profile to a proprietary VPN actively hoovering in everything it can to put in ad profiles (which are also used by state actors)
I wonder if I’ll be able to do Alpha Centauri on Wayland now…
Yeah, but it was all Kazaa and Limewire life until like… 2006-ish
I don’t get it, why are the first and last frames the same thing?
Yeah, you’re risking a bad experience with the pi. You can probably get a cheap PC sans OS on eBay with a real drive. SD cards just crap out in an instant at random, so if your whole OS is on one… One day he’s gonna turn it on and EVERYTHING will be gone. Every SD card I’ve ever relied on for OS purposes in a Pi or Android situation has just died within a few years.
I think we’re moving to a world where you need a secure device you own and a sucker device a megacorp sees all on to get by, which sucks
Are push notifications even coming to Graphene? I was under the impression they’re inherently insecure and are the modern way the NSA watches all our text activity…
I ran OS/2 Warp as my primary for like a year, I loved it, and it could even play many Windows/DOS games with fiddling
There was still real competition in the x86 OS space back then, also. Like IBM had OS/2 and DOS 7, and made hardware, so they certainly wouldn’t want it locked to a Microsoft OS.
Have you rebooted? The current Israeli malware all the state actors use allegedly can get in sans interaction but can’t survive a reboot…
I’d consider a Pixel with GrapheneOS, not Linux per se, but with FDroid it’s probably the best FOSS tablet experience
Don’t forget those lucky duckies deemed unworthy of even having the opportunity to compete in our meritocratic job market!
