Scratch is an example of a simple programming language that could be taken pretty far, but it’s often dismissed as a kid’s game.
Or even things like IFTTT, or Apple’s Automator app (formerly called just AppleScript) that gave vaguely python like tools to less/non-programmers.
I worked on a programming tool to bring beginners from a block language like scratch up through C or Python, but we couldn’t get enough funding to finish it and google just looked at us and tried to poorly rip it off (made raising funding to compete with them even harder).
Around 15 years ago my brother and I worked on an RFID based limb and ball tracking prototype. The idea would be to allow instant replays of sporting events from any possible angle.
We never got funding to complete the project, and transmission interference was always tricky.
That’s good, how is the support in apps though? I live and die by pinch zooming and quick easy accurate scrolling/panning/rotating in Fusion and most of my graphics apps.
Side note, there are some really nice Mac only or Mac centric graphics apps that are affordable and not shitty subscriptions like the adobe suite. Pixelmator and Sketch are big for my photo retouching and UI designs.

Designer here. This is true, but they are also have a seriously good trackpad and good energy use (finally). They work well for design, video and audio, but they are also really nice to operate. It’s a bit like driving a very nice car (which I can’t afford, but have borrowed from a client). Once you get accustomed to it, every other computer—especially laptops—feel like 1980s GM econoboxes.
Old school Mac users huff nitrous from beach balls, the tide pod thing is just iOS users.

In my experience people who really use excel are always going to need excel.
Also in my experience excel runs great on Mac Laptops, which are so much better than any other laptop I’ve touched in the last 20 years. If you’ve tried their touchpads you’ll know what I mean. Total game changers for truly mobile computing working without a desk.
I wonder if it’s related to training on website comments, which often role the same trajectory.
I also wonder if this isn’t something that someone has “told” an LLM, and that now it’s just parroting it back. It all fits with my opinion of the AI craze.
