I’m seeing this distro everywhere lately. I have to look into it.

Hey long as you get here on Linux it is all good lol.
It is good to send new users to something like Gnome they can branch out. I think Cosmic will be a great fit as well. Outside of updates, you don’t have to do too much in the CLI really. But long as you learn some of the basics how to get around and maybe make an alias. I think that will get you by just fine on Linux. I do think people should get users to try less Windows like experiences on Linux. Because a Windows like UI will just make them miss Windows.
One thing Linux needs to do is change the perception of how hard everything is compared to Windows. Some things are extremely less difficult on Linux.
Fixing Grub issues when I was first starting out.
I have to use Windows for work, so this is how I got it setup and MS still makes it difficult with updates lol.
I haven’t had any real issues with Flatpaks outside of them not following my GTK theme which I fixed with Flatseal.
I love me some cheap hardware to put Linux on it. It is a good feeling, plus less ewaste.
It is a fantastic feeling when you just finally say fuck it and run Linux only as your daily driver.
Props to people are actually helping, it goes a long way and people do learn information differently. Sometimes telling someone just to read something doesn’t click.
This isn’t a bad take. DE is what is going to keep people from running back to windows right away, mostly. I do think it is better for people coming into Linux not to try to emulate the Windows experience. It is easier to learn when you accept it is going to be different from the start.
The only time I have trouble with Linux gaming is either a multiplayer game I want to play isn’t supported or some Visual Novel having random issues every once in a while. But this meme is still true lol.
I let a friend try out Linux after I’ve been using it for years and they were shocked how much easier some things are. I think the idea of throwing them into a like Windows distro is the wrong direction. I’m ready POP OS’s new desktop whenever it comes out.
I usually don’t have to do too much text editing. I feel like I should know how to use vim anyway.
I’m one of the people who use micro lol. I do want to give Vim a real shot.
I finally joined the Fedora nation after being on Arch for a long time. Both are great.
