They really don’t care, do they?
Yes. That’s obvious.
I am asking if there is a stated priority on this new feature?
What is the priority for this?
Better mod tools, scanning uploads to combat illegal images, and ways to combat bad actors in general are needed long before this.
Tags should be set up in the community settings. That way there is a community specific list to choose from when posting.
“We aren’t being manipulated and exploited enough.”
Does it have any moderation functions?
The bigger concern I have, if anything, is that these tools may give incentive to influencers and corporate brands to optimize their content engagement. It could lead to an increase in performative interaction, and encourage corporate entities to gobble up data about everything happening in the fediverse. There’s a potential for surveillance capitalism to become more normalized on the network.
I think these tools can be a real benefit in legitimizing the fediverse, but they need to be developed carefully, with concern for user privacy.
I feel if you did this it would be best to post them to a new distinct community.
If I were to stand up a lemmy server, has anyone made a simple guide to do so?
I haven’t run a server since I had a php site with MySQL on a dedicated server 15 years ago.
If server admins federate with Meta, I will be looking for a new server.
I would like to see user flair someday.
That’s implying that the Lemmy devs are focused on new features.
I haven’t ever seen any user requested feature implemented.
