You can restrict access to just your friend’s public IPs easy with ufw, use the launchers others mentioned and I am sure it will be fine. Or just use regular Prism and be Steve.

You can allow unverified accounts onto your server if you run java edition. Nobody will have their account skins but who cares. This will allow people to connect and play without purchasing the game. Idk how you get one of these copies though
The OS you are using doesnt matter. I didnt follow a guide or else I’d link one for you but even with little knowledge it could very well be done. All you are doing after installing is changing 1 IP on your router’s DNS settings and setting a reservation for the pihole machine. Its practically setup at install. All I changed was blocking some extra microsoft stuff like their heartbeat monitor and setting my own DNS to Quad9. Might be worth it to look into if you are curious enough about privacy to poison your data.
I would just block all the data collection dns names you can find. Easiest way is to setup a pihole and point your router’s dns at it

0·9 days agoIt shouldnt be any different than doing it on Debian tbh. Mine is a Buffalo Terrastation running Debian. I use mergerFS and I think I SMB? I actually havent messed with it in so long I barely remember cause it never has issues.
Why not all 3? I love complaining.

My pi 1b handles the internal DNS for my game servers, which at this point is actually just minecraft because PSO:BB was way harder to setup than I thought. It works and it is extremely easy and it still holes all the tracking stuff too.
