Great read. Even in STEM research as a grad student I’m very tired of every saying “let’s try machine learning on this problem” to get something that works marginally better than some conventional models but requiring huge amounts of computation and data.

Notably, however, the EU Commission is on Mastodon. Would be great if a lot of the companies suspending their ads would also move over to Mastodon even if not fully.

Love Sumantra so much. When I’ve had to do Linux installs, the lack of Sumantra was my biggest disappointment.
