A Nissan e-NV200 is what you want … I’m in Spain, there’s a few about. They’re basic work vans, good amount of space in them, easily fixable, etc.

I’m 46, the parts of my life where I haven’t needed to use a car every day have been great for my physical and mental health … now I live too far from work I use a little 125 motorbike to commute, and it’s still much nicer than having to take a car. When I am forced to take a car, the one I have is small and economical.
I didn’t start figuring this out until I was 30, maybe you need a few more years to mature enough to throw off the consumerist mindset?
At 85 years old my Mum can’t drive or walk, she does her own shopping with an electric mobility scooter and occasionally needs the help of others … that works fine for her because she lives in what might be called a “15 minute city” these days.
Just walk in to the local shop on your way to/from wherever else you’re going (or just to get out of the house for two minutes if you’ve been working from home) … that way you can have fresh ingredients every day, and you’re walking a bit regularly so you don’t get overweight easily
Like a giant garbage disposal of dolphins?
I do, because DVDs can’t get pulled from streaming services or be region locked, and it’s worked out cheaper to buy discs than subscribe to yet another service
It’s actually more of a funnel
This brings back memories … then I got a Thinkpad and just take it for granted that everything’s fine, lol
Dust buildup is normal, especially if someone has pets. Because of your allergy you probably keep the area around your computer cleaner than most people!
In the land before time I did PC maintenance and sometimes you could remove dust from under a CPU fan in one single piece because it was matted together … nasty, but very satisfying when you’ve finished cleaning and the computer just whirrs happily afterwards :-)
Ok then, you don’t think wanking someone off in from of kids isn’t a bit more than “icky”?
You don’t thing wanking people off in front of kids is a wee bit more than “problematic”?
Yeah!
It’s more like pootling
Yeah, I remember having a photocopy of the manual and it had a guide to the basic demons etc :-)
Urf, one of the candidates for mayor of the region where I live said that if they won they’d make an industrial park to encourage jobs … a third of the municipality is a nature reserve, half of it is a literal mountain, and the remainder is small farms. There are no roads big enough for a full size lorry, and there’s a large industrial estate in the valley below which provides lots of jobs.
It just made me wonder if they were that corrupt or simply on drugs.
Nah, mines in Celsius … the poster above probably has an old British oven, they had a lot of hold-outs for imperial measurements.
I used to have a Hyundai laptop … it was really good :-)
In the UK buses and taxis increasingly take cards, and are phasing out cash. Same goes for shops. Having a card becomes the norm because it’s less fiddly and more convenient - great!
To open a bank account you need a fixed address and proof of ID in the form of a passport or driving license.
In the last year several thousand people have had bank accounts closed under the presumption of being a “politically vulnerable person”, one example was a teacher who went to volunteer in Ukraine for while.
If your bank account is overdrawn you get fees and are unable to use your card.
My mother is 85 and doesn’t understand ATMs, never mind online banking. The decreased access to cash has left her confused, and when stressed she can’t remember her pin number.
So, the most vulnerable in society are gradually being squeezed out of the ability to live day-to-day thanks to cash being phased out … the same is a desirable end-point for many capitalists elsewhere in the first world because they don’t see the value of people on the bottom rung.
Lidl screwdriver = adequate for occasional DIY, 3 Stars
Bosch screwdriver = can be used as a substitute chisel or crowbar every day for a lifetime, 5 stars
The same way that depends is the answer, yet Donald Trump is still incontinent.
Makes sense, European crash testing looks for different things and the e-NV200 was only ever passed as a commercial vehicle here so you couldn’t use one as a taxi.
They are well handy, it’s a shame.
