I can understand when the topic is comparison, but my experience is that it seems that more often than not, the comparison is made even when not part of the topic. It could be some horrible news of a tragedy that occurred in the US, and rather than discuss the matter at hand, the comments are about how Europe is better. Of course they don’t do that with other countries like Brazil, India, or Mexico. That’s the point of the comment: to point out how ridiculous it would be, especially when a lot of the issues in those countries could be traced back to European colonization. But, since the US is a powerhouse with GDP, military, media, and global political power, everyone thinks it’s okay to shit on it. I’d like to point out that the GDP stays at the top. Arguably, the quality of life of the average EU resident is better than the average American resident. Y’all tell us everyday with your medical systems and healthcare access, workers rights, time off, gun control, etc.

If American culture constantly has a delusional state of superiority, then why are the comments on Lemmy about how the EU is superior? Let’s compare the number of comments on Lemmy in which Americans state or imply their superiority to Europe with vice versa. I bet that ratio will easily surpass 1:10. And the American one will more likely than not be downvoted to hell. Yeah, there are Americans and American media that are delusional about their superiority, but that is not the case with Lemmy users. In general, those are conservatives/Republicans and some moderates. Europe has those clowns too. American users on Lemmy tend to be quite left, desire strong leftist policies, and acknowledge the reality of the situation while being humble af, yet they are the ones that have to read all the shit talking about Americans every day on here. It’s annoying af; that’s all.

Based on a few docu-series I’ve seen on the Internet that include casting interviews, adult parties, and erotic behaviors in public, I’m pretty certain that the Czech Republic is lax on sexual matters.

I like Linux because it let’s me do whatever I want on it. Windows is so controlling. For example in Windows, there are lots of occasions where a window will pop up asking you do make a decision, and while that window is up, you cannot click on any of the other windows. Say I want to save a file, but I want to look at the document. If the save window is up, I can’t review the document because it wont let me. That’s so freaking annoying.

Aside from all sorts of little annoyances like that, Linux is sooooo customizable. Using KDE PLasma, I could just add widgets on my desktop that show me the status orf my computer or even let me write notes right on the desktop. To do that on Windows, I have to mess with Rainmeter for days trying to figure out the proper settings using a text protocol I am not familiar with. While Linux does run into some difficulties, they tend to be easily solvable by just running an Internet search or posting on a forum relevant to your distro/DE.

Lastly, there are lots of things that just work on Linux that don’t on Windows. For instance, my network printer just works. I didn’t even have to install a driver. I just added the printer and it did everything else for me. Or, I could use KDE Connect and easily transfer files from my phone to my desktop and vice verse, get phone notifications on my desktop, and even text from it without any tinkering. It just works.

The only reason I could see people using Windows aside from subjective preferences is when they’re forced to because of work or they realllly want to play a one fo the few games that doesn’t work on Linux. Otherwise, Linux is just objectively better as a whole.

I’m a Linux user since 2010. I’ve been pure Linux since 2020. I do not fall under any of those groups tho :/

Reminds me of a scene from some show. The main character was known for being a rich dude that never developed any practical skills, yet had an inflated ego. Someone asked him what his skills were, and he responded, “People say I have really good taste.” That guy’s inflated ego rested upon the belief that other’s like his choices. He contributed nothing to society.

This AI status reminds me of that. A user will have the AI write some status for them, and then the user will choose to post whichever they prefer. Essentially, other users would be liking the statuses that were chosen, not composed, all for the sake of feeling valued. It’s like everyone is unknowingly making the decision to live in a joint delusion where they are contributing, but really they are are just choosing which AI contributions to voice.

I don’t remember TMNT ever being on Nickelodeon. What I remember was them being on during after school cartoons on the regular antenna stations, and sometimes in the mornings during the summer. I think they had a Saturday morning run for a bit too.
