They could have handled announcing this so much better.
Linus fumbled this hard.

I think this is a shortsighted and extremely ill-informed decision.
The “compliance requirments” have still not been explained at all.
Why aren’t Americans and israelis being removed from the maintainer list for their active part in a genocide?
But that is my opinion and is all I will say
Very excited about fractal 9. It’s probably my favorite matrix chat application outside of element. I just wish it would support calls but that may be out of scope
I think Element has the best chance of being a viable discord alternative. Especially with matrix 2 around the corner.
Element X (their new mobile app) loads as quickly as discord and supports e2e calls as well as chat.
It is a different app than discord though. It does not feature the nice server layout that discord is kind of known for but it is planned with spaces.
I say give Element another year or two and it will be a very formidable chat program.
And I have no doubt they are doing well financially and will continue to push improvements as matrix is very widely used. I mean hell apparently Nato uses it
Minecraft is not infinite
You should probably use fedora instead of debian testing.
Fedora is intended to be used as a more up to date distro. While debian testing is just that. Testing
I can stand behind reolink. Quality products at really good prices.
I have personally installed their cameras for multiple people and never really have issues out of them.
And check with your local telephone co-op and see if they will hook you up with free ethernet cable. All you need then is a crimper and some ends.
Love these cameras
I wish other distro’s would implement this. It’s a very modern thing to do and really does make linux as a desktop feel more complete.
I’m fairly sure flatpaks are planned to have something like this and I am really looking forward to it
Big fan of retro music
Big fan of gapless
Anything run through wine right now on wayland is running through xwayland
Well hopefully xwayland won’t be needed much longer for wine.
And yeah the customization is very impressive. I worry though that a lot of users will create illegible color schemes and complain. Even though it is their own fault
A CEO is a needed possition
Ha! Good one…
oh wait. You’re serious…
How is a ceo needed? They do no work. Their entire job is to rake in cash from workers.
All a ceo needs is a guillotine.
How are you liking cosmic? I tried to run it in a vm but it kept wanting to crash on me :(
Play on linux is extremely old at this point and isn’t really updated.
I understand that it was a tool that worked well for you in the past and you could probably get it working with the right dependencies but if I am being honest. It’s not worth it.
Wine has improved drastically in the last few years and with that a lot of new apps have come around.
My personal favorite is bottles as it is very easy to use and works well for both games and applications.
Another option is lutris but it’s a lot more oriented towards games than applications.
I hope I was of some help and good luck
I pretty much am exclusively on linux just because I prefer the workflow of gnome.
Sure a few games don’t work but it’s usually a competitive game I have no interest in.
Being able to use my computer without ads or shitty updates is a godsend
I like https://flathub.org/apps/org.nickvision.tagger
Very simple to use app
You may wanna try putting a solid state drive in. It will boost performance so much
Just vanilla gnome. I’m pretty basic
I recommend booting into a live usb and seeing if everything is frozen.
If it does it even on the live usb it may be a hardware issue.
And if it’s hardware a lot of things can explain random freezing. I had similar freezing issues and it turned out to be a dying psu
