  • Is it because Microsoft is the big dog with money and Linux is no dog because there is no company backing Linux? Windows sells solely because Windows can push the product?

Would it be benificial (albeit this will be extremely frowned upon by this community I believe) for a Linux distro to be backed and monetized via a corporation with a legal team to help push a Linux product on the shelves? In the short run it’s a bad idea, but in the long run it’ll familiarize the public, and push software developers for compatability. The incentive being that there’s money now involved and it won’t be a project for people.

Because right now to use Linux for the majority of user case operations you’d need at least computer science 101 to start installing a distro, partitions, manual software installation, to get running. Or am I wrong on this part?

  • So if you did open a computer shop and are selling this plethora of Linux options, doesn’t that leave you liable if there are issues with the operating system?

If I buy a laptop and my windows is running poorly don’t I have windows support taking care of my windows problems?

If I buy a laptop from you with mint installed and am having problems I can’t contact Linux for support, I’ll have to contact you the shop owner.

Won’t this liability discourage shop owners from selling laptops/desktops with Linux?

Its not a participation award game. It’s the game of games. It’s not about kelce not getting to play. It’s about the chiefs losing because they’re not utilizing their best weapon. It’s a team sport and you’re watching your team lose because you’re not being used.

Imagine being on a competitive team project and you’re the best speaker presenting to the state but your teacher decides to let the shy kids try to present, clearly bumbling and being incoherent, letting your opponents out argue every point your peers are making when you clearly can out speak them. You’d be pretty upset with your teacher for getting you to states, you being the reason you’re there, and then once you’re there you’re sidelined.

  • I felt the same way. It’s 4v4. My turn is to make it 4v3 as quick as possible because even one hit on anyone other than karlach or a tank character will take me 1/2 hp. And God forbid they take 2 hits, then they’re out of the battle. My main is a bard (I’m still in the first map dealing with the goblin camp) and I’m using karlach as my tank, but if my bard isn’t doing a damage attack on an enemy I feel I’m worse off. I know I’m doing something wrong because this isn’t the way support moves are balanced to be.

No it’s not. Renting is a totally normal way to have a place to live without having to deal with banks and the mess that getting a mortgage or a loan causes. Some people prefer to rent because they just pay for the home and live there. Don’t have to worry about the rest that comes with home ownership and leave it to the owner.

Renting as a business or corporation should absolutely be outlawed. Apartments should be owned by the tenants. Condos and HOA’s should be owned by the community they serve.

  • I agree. They should make it that no one person can own more than like 3 properties or something like that.

Apartments should be owned by the renters. They pay for their management and if it’s poorly managed they can choose to hire someone else.

Same with condos and the absolute nightmare costs of HOA. No HOA should own a community. The community should own the HOA.
