Talking entirely out of my ass here, but, imagine you took two random people and stuck them together in a house out in the country, where they often go a week or two without seeing another person. Odds are pretty low they get along, if they were truly random.

Now put those two people in a city, they don’t need to get along with each other as long as they each get along with some of the other people in the city.
