    Amusing read, but for anyone looking for an actual solution:

    1. If there isn’t a plunger, they’ve anticipated the situation and made a rational choice (to them) and the embarrassment is on them for making you ask for it.

    2. Empty the wastebasket into the sink. Fill it with hot water from the tub (shower works too). Crank the heat all the way up and let it warm up to scalding. Maybe a little less so if the wastebasket is metal. (If it’s wicker, this isn’t going to work — try to acquire a salad bowl or large pot.) Slowly pour it into the bowl. Should unclog the drain if it’s a simple clog. Replace the trash in the bin.
