The McDonalds breakfast meal in North America is called egg Mcmuffin which is an egg with a muffin. Mc sounds similar to mit, so it’s a play on the two similar sounds.
We also have this breakfast meal here in europe and no Mc does not sound anywhere similair to mit.
Spoken with a US midwestern accent “mit” sounds more like “meat”
Egg Mett Muffin sounds even more similar and it would create a new breakfast dish, some might call it disgusting.
