The anthem of the Soviet pioneers
Children’s Choir of the Moscow House of Pioneers
Composer: Sergei Kaydan-Deshkin
Author of words Alexander Zharov
The All-Union Pioneer Organization named after Vladimir Ilyich Lenin was born at the dawn of Soviet power. May 19, 1922 was its birthday.
In Voronezh, the organization of the first detachment of pioneers took place on June 21, 1923. The history of the organization was started by the Komsomol members of the 20s, the first pioneer counselors who created detachments of young Leninists.
The word “pioneer” means “advanced”, “discoverer”. Pioneers are those who discovered new lands, made discoveries in science, technology, literature and art. To be a Pioneer-Leninist - it meant to be ahead in everything and always be ahead, to bring up the wonderful traits of a Soviet man - love for his homeland and devotion to the cause of the great Communist Party, diligence and desire for knowledge, honesty and nobility, modesty and discipline. Children of secondary schools became pioneers, it was honorable, fun and meant the first step on the way to becoming a good member of the communist society.
