After glansing through another anti-electorial thread on flipanarchy
I’m filled again with thoughts.
I was an anti-electorialist.
I read through the AFAQ sections on elecorialism and as they made the obvious
points (Socailist electorialism will always turn against the working class)
I adopted it as my own position.
However my position on electorialism changing (and the andrewism videos on
money and anti-work) have been the driving forces behind my move away from the
left. (Not helped by the fact that leftism seems to be about mostly about
infighting)
In specific I think I want to start a political party. A minarchist party.
(Obviously I can’t start an anarchist party, that wouldn’t make any sense.)
The reason behind this is simple - public opinion.
Being a party and playing the politics validates your position, shows that you
are not outside the system but instead part of it.
Democratic pluralism - focusing democracies toward including diverse sets of
politics focusing on accepting and navigating differences instead of attempting
to steam-roll them into simple positions that are opposed.
This is the environment in which anarchy can flourish. As anarchy is only a
single step removed from democracy instead of “majority rule” it’s “no rule”.
And one could argue that’s what this democratic pluralism is. Rejecting the
notion that political arguments are simple, that people can be divided into
groups and that those groups are then a majority that has the power to rule.
All of this is to say that I can see a path for democracy to evolve into
anarchy. A process that completely ignores the material analysis of leftists,
who will shut this down with “The ruling class will never permit that”.
And that’s true, but I simply believe that the class-based view of society is
reductive. Yes, money does have power, but (at least where I live) It doesn’t
seem to be more powerful than democracy, yet.
When faced with an impossible challenge my mind searches for solutions.
It’s how I stay sane. Creating anarchy is the problem that I have chosen to
dedicate my life to. This is one of the solutions. We need to be considered an
accepted political movement to have any hope of standing against those who
mark us traitors, murderers, chaos-bringers, destroyers. Guns and violence will
only ever be met with escalation.
We need schools, cafes, social clubs and libraries of things.
We need people to know that there are builders alongside the destroyers.
And for that we need to be known.
We need have the chance to sit alongside politicians sneering at them when they
claim to stand for “law and order”.
We need to have a voice that they don’t feel threatened by, at least not to the same degree.
A voice they can’t claim is terrorist.
(Why do I get the urge to write when I’m at my most tired? This is literally the last thing I’m going to do today, and I would not be surprised if I wake up tomorrow and go “What is all this?”. Anyway This is a snapshot of my mind at the moment of writing this. It will change, potentially immediately. Do not use this to claim me as anything other than curious, self-aware and analytical of my own beliefs.)
