seeing china’s anemic support for latin-american countries trying to shake off the yoke of the us empire’s control makes me pessimistic about brics ever gain the upper hand over the g8, despite it’s manufacturing strength and outsized economies.
i tried telling myself that they’re playing the long game by not overly antagonizing the current world’s super power while it’s still powerful enough to stop them as i watched these anemic displays; but it’s difficult to keep drawing this conclusion now that they’ve diplomatically given the green light to the 4th mass ndigenous genocide & ethnic cleansing by the anglosphere.
And what should China do in your opinion? Invade? Sanction and make the US the biggest propaganda gift of the century? Set up bases in South America against the wishes of the locals and risk military escalation?
a “no” vote at the un security council could have been the bare bones minimum, but they chose to look the other way by abstaining.
the next biggest step is to do the same thing that the united states and russia have been doing for decades in vetoing the resolution altogether; but they didn’t do that either.
instead, they just passively went along with agreeing to yet another genocidal colonial stewardship over another group of indigenous people.
China is gladly joining the imperlialist table now they’re offered a seat. Their big talk of a global south and people’s resistance went up in smoke and mirrors.
the un vote is definitely damning and it’s anemic support for people in the global north’s periphery is concerning, but it doesn’t yet make for a imperialist-friendly pattern imo.
They have veto rights to not send an international colonization army to Palestine. Nobody is expecting China to liberate Palestine with guns. But here they are fully complicit.
The US isn’t constrained by the UN. But let’s pretend they are. Even if China or Russia vetoed all they’d get is the international community blaming them for the conflict not being resolved, while Gazans would still be genocided. I’m not happy with it either, but it is what it is.
This is about the complicity of China and Russia at the UN, literally putting Trump in charge as the leader of Gaza now.

Where exactly did it do so? It still respects the wishes of the people from the global south and doesn’t fuck them over.
the gazans are part of the global south and china fucked them over yesterday

Extreme lack of support for Iran against Israel is also very mediocre.
Also China militarily supports the genocidal Junta in Myanmar
Does China need to start WW3 for you to stop blaming them, instead of the western powers for actually perpetrating the crimes?

The US is literally constrained by the UN they can’t send an international colonization force to disarm Hamas if China or Russia vetoes it.
China and Russia respected the wishes of the palestinean administration is bad how?
