Seriously, my insurance covers it, but there’s no information on how to find anyone who offers it and takes the insurance? Is crazy. Especially since I have to have completed voice training to even be considered for vocal chord surgery.
“you’re on guard”
Professional voice training also involved meowing. There seems to be some conspiracy by big catgirl to make more catgirls

Meow :3
Is that actually a thing that meowing helps train a more feminin voice? Is that why meowing is an in-joke among transfems?
As a voice trained trans woman who meows, no, at least not to my knowledge. A meow is not created in the same way as typical speech (it’s created entirely in falsetto), so it wouldn’t have any significant effect on vocal feminization. Many of us, however, are catgirls. We do not meow as an “in-joke,” but rather that’s simply what we like to do. It’s a form of self-expression. It’s very rare that I’d meet a trans girl who isn’t a catgirl, puppygirl, or adjacent that will reciprocate a meow/bark/whatever as a “joke” of some sort.
Ah, sorry, I didn’t mean that the meowing itself is an in-joke, but rather that transfems often reference enjoying to meow…? This is way to dry of a way to describe something I’ve learned from memes, but hopefully you get what I mean.
I haven’t yet heard the two trans ladies that I know in the physical world meow, so I guess, I associated it more with the joke references, but I also only really meet them in the workplace, where self-expression is hampered anyways. 🥴But okay, thanks for the explanation. I thought for a moment I missed a really obvious reason to meow. 🙃
My professional voice training hadn’t started yet. When I notice my voice is too unfeminine, I actually so a meow to quickly readjust/tune. Though not in a socially awkward way.
