After merging(?) Thaniel and Oliver, defeating Ketheric, the shadow curse should be lifted and no more darkness or am I mistaken?
The darkness is still there, and the quests are completed.

Unfortunately you don’t really get to witness the shadow curse lifting, at least not in any way that provides content, gameplay, or exploration.
The most you get is a cutscene when transitioning from the end of Act 2, to the beginning of Act 3.
On an unrelated note. You can’t return to Act 1 or Act 2 locations once you begin Act 3. Make sure you head to the mountains and do the content there before you leave.

It’s unfortunately worse than that. Even with the correct spoiler tag some users will see it without it being hidden. Any service accessing lemmy, but is not lemmy. Such as kbin, doesn’t support lemmy spoilers. Then you have Sync which only currently supports reddit spoilers. There currently doesn’t exist a one-size fits all spoiler formatting option.
Thanks for the heads up. I used the spoiler option from the sync app. Then checked a couple other apps, each of which used the method you linked. Though for some reason, none of them actually format the text to be hidden no matter which method I used.
Sync app is basically just the original reddit app bootstrapped to support lemmy. It will probably be a while until all this stuff is fixed. To be fair, your spoilers are showing on sync as well.
I used the Lemmy.world site in a web browser, and selected the spoiler option in the text editor. Don’t know what is going on. When viewing the post there the contents are hidden with a spoiler drop-down.

Sorry, I was a bit quick. Did not notice this was a reply to another reply. 😬👍
Yeah one of the things I was quite disappointed about was that I couldn’t go through that zone and see it restored because I think it would have been so beautiful.
That would mean they would have needed to remake all the zone for virtually nothing since it’s not like you would do anything in there.
When it actually goes away, you won’t be able to come back and take a good look. There’s a cut scene that shows it all getting better as you leave for Baldur’s Gate.
