When I was a Christian in the 80s, most of the other Christians I knew were at least still accepting of science. Belief in witchcraft was something that was considered an extreme fringe superstition, even by Christians.
Today? It seems like most Christians live in fear of witches, devils, and books.
Faith is only meaningful in the face of evidence. Alternatively faith is tested by evidence.
Anyone who can adhere to their faith in the face of overwhelming evidence can dismiss any and all evidence of anything. This leads to any evidence, regardless of if it’s contrary to an article of faith, being denied.
The end result is complete and willful ignorance. Ignorance leads to a host of other anti social behaviour, like thinking that transfem witches are coming to steal your testosterone and makes you gay, for example.
