We don’t deadname Marle. She’s quite outspoken about that. R-66Y says that’s what his name is, and Lucca tries to name him Robo, but he doesn’t care, and Glenn never asked to be named “Frog,” so he isn’t called that.
Marle is Marle for a reason, cause that’s what she likes.
(Edit: I should clarify I’ve been playing this game monthly for the last three decades. It’s my favorite game and it doesn’t get old. I was playing the Japanese version before I learned English, and I have no idea where my super famicom cart of it is (or the console, come to think of it). I’ve finished the game on everything I own that has a screen, including my wristwatch, because I love Chrono Trigger that goddamn much. Also the watch was frostrating cause I couldn’t hold run and use the arrow keys at the same time but dammit I did it.)

And the way I’ve always done it, is to have Janus keep his name when he joins the party, as Ozzie was a bad influence on him, trying to groom him into commanding a rival army. If he moves through Ozzie’s Lair, that’s basically a solid rejection of that lifestyle.
Seeing the Day of Lavos cutscene and hearing the 2300AD music freaked me the fuck out at 10 years old.
Also hell yeah Trann Dome.
I loved the pacing of that game. “You saved Marle! Now run away! Oh what’s this, scary broken future? And here’s the cause?”
It’s like the first hour of the game is just a giant setup, and it’s so well-executed.
Next playthrough, name Marle “Nadia”, Robo as “R-66Y” and Frog as “Glenn”.

Playing on a smartwatch is an incredible feat. I thought I was hot shit for managing to play 90% of majoras mask on my phone touchscreen.
Also the love for Chrono Trigger is very understandable, its one of the best.
How did you catch the rat without running?
I turned on button-lock for that segment. The emulator is ArcEmu.
