In 2012, on KIRO-FM he was asked if he supports gay marriage and replied: “Well, since I’m not gay, the answer to that would be no.” He was then asked if he would support legislation to make gay marriage legal and said, “I’m Christian. The answer to that would be no.”
In 2009, Mustaine was interviewed by far-right conspiracy theorist and radio host Alex Jones for InfoWars, in which Mustaine stated that the album Endgame was inspired by his Christian beliefs and belief in an upcoming New World Order.
In addition, Mustaine disapproved of president Barack Obama, calling him “the most divisive president we’ve ever had” in and commenting that he believed that Obama was born outside of the United States during a March 2012 interview on George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight.
While touring Singapore in 2012, Mustaine claimed onstage that Obama had staged the shootings in Aurora, Colorado, and a Wisconsin Sikh temple in order to push a gun control agenda, which received backlash from Aurora survivors.

Fuck Dave
“Since I’m not gay the answer would be no”
That’s gotta be one of the most braindead arguments against gay marriage one could possibly construct.
It’s the most honest. Conservative voters’ opinions on gay and trans people boil down to them thinking it’s icky, and also not giving a flying fuck about anything that doesn’t affect them personally.
This is Dave after all
he believed that Obama was born outside of the United States during a March 2012 interview on George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight.
Mustaine must have been smoking the good stuff, it is highly implausible that Obama was born in March 2012 given that he became president in 2008.
Fuck Dave
Well, since I’m not gay, that’s gonna be a no from me dawg.
But seriously, fuck Dave. And Junior.
It’s so weird because End Game is pretty explicitly anti-Bush, anti-surveillance, and anti-authoritarian.
“The ex-president signed a secret bill that could land a legal US citizen in jail. And the Patriot Act stripped away our constitutional rights. They say the concentration camps just popped up, yeah right”
Like, yeah the qualifier of “legal US citizen” is sus, but other than that it’s pretty based. In 2012 when it came out, “ex-president” was very clearly Bush, not Obama.
It’s such a shame how Trump and the Tea Parties managed to brainwash libertarians into being fascists.
Dave strikes me as someone that’s anti-authoritarian unless he’s the authority.
You can see how Dave, Lars, and James would have been besties when they were teens.
I grew up listening to Megadeth and Metallica. Two of the biggest disappointments of my life.
Likewise. At least metallica kinda got it right when they did the some kind of monster docu. They realised it wasn’t just about the music anymore. As ridiculous as it was they embraced the soap series that the whole metallica/megadeth lore had become.
And now we have a new metallica album every once in a while that is tame and unsurprising.
And a bitter Dave mustaime that keeps complaining about metallica. Not quite tame, but also unsurprising.
Hey at least Dave called it quits. About fucking time.
Master of puppets is still a perfect album though
Used to be a big fan, recently thought of him and wondered, what would his young self think of who he is now. Eh, system has failed was his last good album anyway.
Reminder as olds we have to check ourselves everyday. The world wasn’t right when we were young and ain’t no war like a class war.
Oh Im not that old, I became a fan when Dave already was like this. Some things I didn’t know, some I didn’t mind
he transitioned?
Into a Christian Fundamentalist by the sound of it
surprising T-shirt for that kind of transition
