4-panel comic. panel 1 shows two ants of different sizes at the base of a tree. the smaller ant has a thought bubble saying "Jesus look at this big fuck he’s gonna eat this whole damn tree before Benny, can get here". In panel 2 the larger ant has a speech bubble saying "WELP THAT'S ENOUGH FOR ME GOTTA WATCH MY SVELTE FIGURE" and the small ant has a thought bubble saying "oh tight. plenty of fir left for Benny. that must be him calling now". In panel 3 another small ant sits on a smartphone which has a call in progress with a contact named "Carpenter Ant Tony". The ant on the phone says "EY TONY! I HEARD ABOUT THE BIG FELLA. HOW MUCH OF THE TREE IS STILL THERE?". In panel 4 the first ant (still eating the tree) has a speech bubble saying "so much fir the taller ant left".

Consensus reality (the way most people see the world and think it objectively works) is a social construct used by the bourgeois to control the workers. Turns out there is no objectivity, or if there is, it’s beyond human science.

The rich and powerful use our belief in objectivity to control us. The news media, the church, corporate science, the government. They all have no care for objectivity, but they tell us the objective facts are whatever benefit them. That makes us weak, and them strong. Because they will change consensus reality according to their whims, and we will not.

To successfully revolt against capitalism, we must throw off their material chains, and their mental chains. We must embrace subjectivity, and intentionally manipulate our subjectivity for freedom, justice, and kindness. We must take back the means of ontological manufacture from the owning class!

So we are to just ignore science then? Is science also a tool of the bourgeoisie?

It does help to see people aware of the issues, even if they don’t know how to personally solve the problems caused by massive, global, centuries-old patterns we’re in the middle of. I don’t know about you but I’d go nuts if I thought I was alone over here.

Jesus was definitely left leaning, God was only left leaning in the new testament.

Even in the old testament he punishes his nation pretty hard for forsaking the poor and the stranger and the widow and for being corrupt, bending the law for bribes and giving rich and well known people advantages over others.

The mental gymnastics required to view the Old Testament as left leaning are truly next level.

Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren’t unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don’t rush mod actions. If a case doesn’t need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
